Framework of National Accredited Qualifications

The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) first published the Framework in 1999 and amended it in June 2001. Its purpose is to formalise the qualifications for those who work within the Early years education, childcare and playwork professions. Those who have experience prior to the setting up of these Standards should not be intimidated or fearful of them. The EYDCP or Ofsted can offer information regarding how an individual needs to proceed. It is important that people working in these professions recognise the high value that is placed upon their contribution and work and the authorities continued encouragement.
