Become a Registered Child minder |

Starting points |
To look after children aged eight and below you must be registered by law. Contact your local Ofsted regional office for your initial general inquiries. To start your registration process contact your local authority offices. If their local number is unknown you can call Childcare Link on 08000 96 02 96. There is a registration fee of £14 and £11/annum thereafter. A series of Application forms are downloadable from Ofsted or they can be sent by contacting 07002 637 833 (Publications inquiries only). Arrangements will be made to visit your home or intended childcare or Daycare establishment and Safety, Fire, Health and Police checks may be required. Pre-registration courses for child minders are regularly arranged. Grants are made available to help you get started from the * EYDCP scheme. |

Who would you want as the paid child minder of your children? | |
It is in your interest to be registered and within the Law. Property, vehicle and liability insurances are affected and the benefit of professional support will be non-existent outside this legal framework. |

*EYDCP is short for: Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership |
